Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rainfall in some parts of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces due to widespread monsoon activity across the country.

Currently, light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is occurring in a few places within Koshi and Madhes provinces, with lighter rain in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Kathmandu Valley is also experiencing rainfall.
The Department predicts that the afternoon will remain generally cloudy throughout the country, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms expected in various regions. Notably, heavy rain is anticipated in isolated areas of Bagmati and Lumbini provinces this afternoon.
Similar weather conditions are expected to persist into the evening, with further heavy rainfall predicted in one or two locations within Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces. Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
